    Beautiful, Talented and and Classy (sexy too, but that’s apparent).

    I channel Dolly when I have to do appearances, Swallow my pride and take the high road. Do my best and avoid the negativity … Shes like the walking bible of proper decorum.

    @banrepguy Your an idiot. She is the most real person in the world and theres nothing fake or weird about her. Shes simply amazing. Thats all I can say about her. Even at her concerts you just get goose bumps from her because her songs are pretty much all from her life. How much more do you want from someone?

    @bamajas1980 Too bad I can’t post excerpts from the Dolly tribute on Oprah, featuring Shania Twain and Melissa Etheridge. The Oprah folks are very aggressive enforcing copyright. On the show, Shania had to stop Melissa from flirting with Dolly. There were also some great duets. Dolly, along with Shania, Billy Ray Cyrus, Rascal Flats, Garth Brooks, etc are trailblazers for breaking Southern stereotypes and publicly expressing their acceptance of gays.

    @bamajas1980, Dolly was always a gay icon but she took it to another level when she wrote and recorded Travelin’ Thru for the lgbt movie, TransAmerica. What a shame she can’t perform it any more because of death threats from homophobic rednecks. Dolly jokes about gays a lot, from the Dolly drag queens that look more like her than she does, to her support of gay marriage (she told Oprah, “Why shouldn’t they suffer like the rest of us?”).

    @bamajas1980 Dolly is a national treasure. She was one of the first to bridge country and pop music, leading to the national country music craze of the early 80′s. Yet she never sold out, always remaining true to her country roots. I love everything about her: the voice, the songwriting, the personality and her acceptance of everyone.  She may be a simple country woman with little formal education, but her lyrics show that she is wiser than most of us city folks.
